    Palin's Yahoo Email Breached

Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin's Yahoo personal e-mail account, also reported to have been used for official business by the Alaskan governor, was breached. The data thieves accessed the account and made public some e-mail communications. This high profile invasion of privacy reveals the complexity of modern communications when employees do not separate professional and private digital communications. The security of digital communications is a key challenge for privacy protection. Intervention on the part of Federal regulators is necessary to protect consumers. Privacy protection requires that those who collect personal information must protect it.
